Pleasant Bridgewater was born in Freeport, Grand Bahama on September 26, 1960 to Prince Albert Bridgewater and Coramae McIntosh-Bridgewater.
She was educated in Nassau at the R. M. Bailey Sr. High School in Nassau, Freeport Anglican High in Freeport and the College of The Bahamas.

Senator the Honourable C.V. Hope Strachan nee Ingraham, was born December 1, 1960 on the island of New Providence to Maxine Adderley and Eric Ingraham.
She is the granddaughter of Mary Naomie Ingraham who championed the Suffragette Movement in the Bahamas during the early sixties and she along with several other female luminaries was successful in obtaining voting rights for Bahamian women.
